Migrant tragedies sharpen calls for safe passage

VALLETTA, Malta (AP) — Three deadly Mediterranean shipwrecks that claimed the lives of hundreds of would-be asylum-seekers fleeing war and repression sharpened calls Saturday for humanitarian corridors to allow safe passage to Europe.
