New Cleveland I-90 bridge bears Voinovich's name

CLEVELAND (AP) — A new Interstate 90 bridge in Cleveland has been dedicated in honor of a former mayor, Ohio governor and U.S. senator, George Voinovich. Voinovich, his wife, children and grandchildren were on hand Friday for the dedication ceremony. The bridge will replace a span built in 1959. The structure will carry traffic in both directions for now. A twin bridge scheduled for completion in 2016 will be built to carry eastbound traffic. Speakers at the dedication included Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor and Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson, who just re-elected to a third term.
