Man sentenced in 2011 Hattiesburg slaying

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) — An 18-year-old Hattiesburg man has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in Forrest County Circuit Court in the 2011 slaying of a man a block from the Hattiesburg Police Department. The Hattiesburg American reports (http://hatne.ws/1dcLlHV ) Jeremiah Robinson was sentenced last week in the shooting death of 29-year-old Librado Mendoza Garcia. Judge Robert Helfrich sentenced Robinson to 20 years with 15 to serve with the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
