Mariano Rivera gives up a run

Yankees closer Mariano Rivera entered Saturday's game against the A's in a non-save situation, with a 4-0 lead. Shawn Kelley started the ninth inning and put a runner on and Rivera allowed that run and another to score. The closer got three outs and held on to a 4-2 win over the A's. He threw 17 pitches to record three outs. He allowed a walk and a hit and his ERA is 2.19.  The run Rivera allowed was only the third he's given up all year over 12 1/3 innings with 12 Ks.
