In 2004, when the Red Sox were working out at Fenway Park a couple of days before flying to New York to begin the ALCS against the Yankees, they had yet to reveal their starting rotation.Even though both Curt Schilling and Pedro Martinez were in line to pitch Games 1 and 2 on the road, some statistics showed striking home-road splits for No. 3 starter Bronson Arroyo, who had a 5.35 ERA at Fenway, a 3.06 ERA on the road.Surely, the Red Sox were weighing Arroyo as a candidate to get a start in that second road game.
