Stocks rebound after worst weekly hit this year

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stocks climbed Monday, with the S&P 500 index rebounding from its largest weekly hit in five months, as investors awaited quarterly earnings from the technology sector and Caterpillar Inc. reported Chinese production to be increasing. At 4 p.m. Eastern, the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 18.97 points to 14,566.48. The S&P 500 index added 7.17 points to 1,562.42.
