Portland Public Schools readies $165 million bond offering

Portland Public Schools will soon issue the first tranche of $482 million in bonds approved by voters last fall. The school board last week approved issuing $165 million in bonds. The proceeds will pay for capital projects, including roof repairs, seismic upgrades and lab improvements at Wilson High School, Alameda K-5, Bridlemile K-5, Laurelhurst K-8 and Lewis K-5. Moody's gave the bonds an investment-grade rating of Aa2, which means the agency thinks the bonds are high quality and low risk. Theā€¦
