Oil prices rise 1.4% on OPEC production, Libya

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Crude oil futures settled up Thursday as the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries reported a drop in output and on renewed concerns out of Libya following the temporary kidnapping of that country's prime minister. Oil for November delivery rose $1.40, or 1.4%, to settle at $103.01 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
