Hong Kong stocks rebound; energy up, property down

HONG KONG (MarketWatch) -- Hong Kong stocks rebounded early Wednesday from the previous day's tumble as the S&P 500 Index's rise to a five-year high in U.S. trading helped lift sentiment, with the energy and insurance sectors powering the advance. The Hang Seng Index rose 0.5% to 23,260.72 and the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index gained 0.6% to 11,600.04. Shares of Kunlun Energy Co. rose 1.1% and PetroChina Co. climbed 1.3%, with AIA Group Ltd. adding 1.1% and Ping An Insurance Group Co. rising 0.8%.
