FBI: NSA surveillance thwarted NYSE bomb plot

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- The Federal Bureau of Investigation said Tuesday a bomb plot to blow up the New York Stock Exchange was thwarted using the government's data gathering program. Deputy FBI director Sean Joyce, speaking at a House Intelligence committee hearing, told committee members the plot was discovered while monitoring a known extremist in Yemen.
